Indoors
A slide in the pool hall can be used all year round and is out of the weather. At Merwestein swimming pool in Nieuwegein, for example, there is a slide tower with tube slides, a wide family slide and two parallel slides in the pool hall.
Partly outside the building
If space indoors is limited, a tube slide can run partly outside the building. At De Heldense Bossen, the new tube slide runs along the facade and ends in the indoor pool.
A considerable share of heat loss in swimming pools occurs in the slide, especially if it runs (partly) outside the building. Slide insulation reduces that loss; we calculate the savings in advance. A coated or insulated (closed) slide often needs lighting inside.
Outdoors
We also build slides for outdoor pools and open water. At Lac des Cyprès in Canada we supplied an AR700 slide on piles that runs out into the lake, and at ’t Kuipke a new slide in the outdoor pool. For an outdoor slide we take the weather into account.
Permits
Whether a permit is needed differs per project and municipality, for example for a slide outside the building. We do not give legal advice, but we supply the technical data you need for an application.
