Industrial automation
Industrial automation is at the heart of AVASTO Control Systems. We automate machines, production lines and installations: from electrical design and the control panel to the PLC software, operator interface and commissioning. Everything comes from our own facility in Oudewater, so you have a single point of contact from design to maintenance.
Whether you are developing a new machine, want to automate a complete line or upgrade an existing installation: we think along with you and deliver a custom control system. We work for machine builders and end users, in sectors including metal and pipe processing, the food industry and poultry processing.

- We draw the electrical schematics in EPLAN and supply the documentation with every installation.

- We build switchgear and control panels in our own workshop, from one-offs to series.
- PLC software
- We program most control systems in CODESYS. If your machine runs on Siemens, Schneider, Wago or Beckhoff, we build on that.
- Operator interfaces and data
- HMIs and touchscreens for the operator, and integrations with your business software: import orders automatically and send production data back to your records. More about integrations.

VST, sprinkler pipe manufacturer
Commissioned by Juffermans Machinebouw, the complete control system for an automated production line for sprinkler pipes, in CODESYS:
- pipe tracking and a cutting plan
- milling and grooving machines, an endless weld and two robotic welding cells
- bundle storage, bundle carts and a rotating magazine
- order import, database and data export
FAAY Vianen, production line B
For production line B, we supplied machines, steelwork and the controls. The line makes walls of flax and gypsum: five stations with 56 SEW drives on a single Profinet network, vacuum frames, an endless core board with hot melt and ten cameras for remote support. Software in CODESYS, operator interface in JMobile.
Strack vloeren
For Strack vloeren, we replaced the controls of the cement silo filling installation and built the controls for the hoppers and the bucket elevator:
- Exor panel with CODESYS and remote IO via Profinet
- weighing per silo, with the contents in tonnes viewable online
- alarm list per station and a central stop function
- elevator with a diverter valve to two bunkers, belt misalignment detection and emergency stops
- remote maintenance via eWON
Laserparts, Bergeijk
For Juffermans Machinebouw, the controls for a sheet storage tower and a gantry crane that loads the laser cutter automatically. Orders come from the order system via MQTT; for each sheet, the PLC selects the right suction cups, measures the thickness and checks that only one sheet is picked up.
Van Rossum Engineering
For Van Rossum Engineering, we build the controls for a wide range of machines, including:
- a curtain impregnation machine for Finivlam
- a rotary filling machine
- a laser sheet cleaning machine and a laser ampoule sealer
- door contacts for laser safety enclosures

- the controls for a cigarette line
Esbro and Groenlandkip
For many years, through Juffermans Machinebouw, we have been building the controls for the poultry processing of Esbro and Groenlandkip. By now, more than fifty projects, from new lines to modifications and breakdown service:
- crate lifts, goods lifts, box lifts and pallet lifts, including in Bodegraven and Barendrecht
- buffer lines with position status display, destackers and a pallet tipper
- filleting lines, portioning lines and turntables, with recipes per product
- controls for a crate and pallet washer and a sticker remover, also multilingual
- installation and operation of Foodmate lines in the filleting department
- emergency stop circuits and modifications for CE compliance and machine safety
Other food companies
Lifts, conveyors and lines at companies such as Vergrill in Alphen, RijnViscus, MitroFresh and Horizon Natuurvoeding also run on our controls, including a tray-loading machine, a wire bending machine and a satay line.

VST sprinkler production line
For Juffermans Machinebouw, we provided the controls for a new production line for VST, a sprinkler pipe manufacturer: switch cabinets with safety relays and IO via Profinet, a cabinet with drives, the conveyor frames and the bundle storage. Our service covers your entire machine fleet, both electrical and mechanical. Because AVASTO also has its own metal workshop, we can maintain both the controls and the mechanics.

R.V.V. Airconditioning
R.V.V. Airconditioning has been one of our regular clients for many years. For them, we develop and produce electronics, controllers and components for ventilation and air conditioning:
- CO2 sensors and CO2 controllers of our own design, in series of tens to hundreds of units
- heat recovery ventilation (HRV) units, horizontal and vertical, with CO2-controlled regulation
- controllers and components for school ventilation units
- automating and commissioning air conditioners with Wi-Fi modules, including at Smulders in Vlissingen, the Morgen College in Harderwijk and three buildings on the Marasingel in Arnhem
- a temperature-controlled fan control system for Dieseko's production halls in Sliedrecht
- hoods and sheet metal parts in series from our own metal workshop
EasyVen also works with our CO2 sensors and HRV units. For Interland Techniek, we supply modulating humidity controllers for duct and room mounting, and stainless steel drain trays.

The leisure sector needs smart and reliable control technology to guarantee the best possible experience and safety. We develop advanced control solutions for swimming pools and other leisure facilities. - We integrate smart control technology for lighting and audio installations, giving visitors an immersive experience. Dynamic light effects and sound systems can be linked to attractions for an interactive experience.

- Safety and thrills come first. We supply control systems for water slides, including start and traffic lights and timed effects.

In-house electronics and PCB development
In-house electronics are part of our automation work. Where a standard PLC or module does not fit, we develop the circuit board ourselves. A well-designed printed circuit board (PCB) is the foundation of every reliable control system for systems and machines.
We specialise in designing and developing high-quality PCBs that meet the highest technical requirements. Whether you are developing a complex industrial control system or looking for an innovative embedded solution: we think along with you and deliver the best possible PCB solution. Talking solar-powered litter bins
From 2016 to 2021, we developed and built the electronics for a supplier of litter bins for public spaces. A sound module plays spoken messages, for example in different languages and for different situations. A ring of sensors detects when something goes into the bin. The system runs stand-alone on solar power, with solar panels and a battery.

Fishing equipment
AVASTO builds, repairs and inspects electric fishing equipment. We supply complete electrofishing units of our own design, convert existing units to lithium batteries and provide repair, overhaul and periodic inspection, including for electrofishing units and generators from other brands.
