Machine building

Building a machine is a careful process that takes time and attention. Before we start production and distribution, we go through important preparatory steps such as research and development, building a prototype, and testing and evaluating it thoroughly.

We are ready to support you at every stage of this process. Have you already done the groundwork yourself? No problem! Then we are happy to step in at the production stage and work with you towards a successful end result.

Machine, control panel and software all come from our own facility in Oudewater: the electrical engineering and software are provided by AVASTO Control Systems.

Production lines for FAAY Vianen

FAAY Vianen makes sustainable walls with a core of flax and gypsum. We have worked for FAAY Vianen for many years as their regular partner for steel, machine building and controls in their factory.

Over the years, our work has included:

  • building, converting, relocating and optimising production lines A to E
  • the controls for the lines, with touchscreens, drives and safety circuits, plus a standing breakdown service
  • steelwork in the factory: mezzanine floors, balustrades and fencing, crane runways, transport trestles and trolleys for wall assembly
  • series production of steel and aluminium parts for FAAY's wall and ceiling systems, such as profiles, connecting plates, brackets and levelling feet
  • prototypes, such as a wet room and a lifting provision in wall elements

For production line B, we supplied machines, steelwork and controls, from the assembly station to the drying line and discharge conveyor. These include a stacking station for the wall panels, a scissor lift that moves the panels and rollers for the flax infeed.

Paper wool cutting machine, Argos Maasdijk

Argos is a company specialising in packaging materials. One way to protect packaged products is to use paper wool. With this machine, they can produce large quantities of paper wool themselves at high speed.

Lifting frames for Jan Snel

Through Loe Special Products, we built lifting frames for Jan Snel's units. The frame hangs from the crane and picks up the unit at its four corners. Four electric linear actuators push the locking pins in there, and at each pin a sensor checks whether it is actually locked. A signal lamp on each corner shows the status, so the crane operator and the people on the ground can see at a glance whether all four pins are secure before lifting.

The controls come from AVASTO Control Systems and run entirely on battery power: a Siemens S7-1200 PLC in a stainless steel enclosure on the frame, operated with a wireless remote control. The battery box contains a battery charger, a DC/DC converter and a battery monitor. The battery charges via a 230 V cable reel, and the PLC gives a warning if the battery voltage gets too low. The first frames were followed by more units and a larger version, built on the same controls.

For operation, we chose an Autec remote control with a colour display, supplied through Elma. The screen was customised for us: the operator sees the unit from above with the locking status at each corner, the battery and the signal strength. If the connection drops, the display reports it immediately.

More machines and developments

Besides complete production lines, we build individual machines, lifting equipment and prototypes. Because the controls also come from AVASTO, we can supply the machine ready to use if required.

Product development for Minirooftop
From the first prototype to new versions and a model for caravans. We make the parts in series.
Lifting beams
Custom lifting beams, including for Glasservice Dick Renes.
Frames and control cabinets for cooling units
Machine frames and a control cabinet for a generator set and cooling unit, for Carrier.
Food industry
Together with Juffermans Machinebouw: destackers, tippers, a crate washer, packing robots and bottling machines, with controls by AVASTO.
Our own CNC cutting machine
For our own production, we built a CNC machine for cutting EPS.
