Open green and blue AR700 slide on piles running out into the lake at Lac des Cyprès in Canada

Open slide

A slide without a roof: you see where you are going, and onlookers see you go.

What is an open slide?

An open slide has an open channel instead of a closed tube. You slide through bends and straight sections and see your surroundings on the way. Open slides are found in pool halls, outdoor pools and at open water.

The Open 700 is 700 mm wide and made for teenagers and adults, with a capacity of 250 people per hour. Like all our slides, we make it to measure, with polyester sections from our own production in Oudewater and a steel support structure from our NEN-EN 1090-1 certified workshop.

We design to NEN-EN 1069 and simulate the ride in advance. After handover, the slide is inspected.

Outdoors and by the water

An open slide works well outdoors. At Lac des Cyprès in Canada we supplied an AR700 slide on piles that runs out into the lake. For an outdoor slide we take the weather into account. Read what indoors or outdoors means.

A traffic light at the start controls the flow of riders, and Speedracer measures time and speed.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between an open slide and a tube slide?

An open slide has an open channel, a tube slide is closed. That is why a tube slide can also run (partly) outside the building and often has lighting inside; on an open slide you see your surroundings.

Can an open slide run out into open water?

Yes. At Lac des Cyprès in Canada our AR700 slide on piles runs out into the lake.
