A bucket full of suspense

A tipping bucket is a large bucket mounted above a play pool or splash pad. It slowly fills with water and then tips everything out in one go over the children below. The wait for that moment makes the tipping bucket a favourite feature of many water playgrounds.

AVASTO turns it into a complete experience. A system on the bucket detects when it is about to tip. At that moment a light and sound effect starts, for example thunder and lightning or a ship’s horn. The system has been proven in a number of water playgrounds.

How it works

The detection on the bucket registers the moment it starts to tip. That signal triggers the effect: light and sound at exactly the moment the water comes down.

Which effect you choose depends on your theme. A thunderstorm with thunder and lightning, a ship’s horn at a pirate ship, or a sound of your own that suits your venue.

Made for Paardekreek

AVASTO made the tipping bucket for the new indoor water playground at Paardekreek. It is part of the complete playground we supplied there: a play structure with slides, water play elements and a whirlpool.

Light and sound by AVASTO

For the effect we use our own lighting and speakers, developed for the harsh conditions of a swimming pool. The controls come from our own control engineers.

This means the tipping bucket can also be linked to other effects in your water playground, such as interactive elements.

For water playgrounds and splash pads

A tipping bucket suits a water playground in or next to a (toddler) pool, and a splash pad. The light and sound system can also be added to an existing tipping bucket.
